Virginia Smiles now reaches more than 800 families and medical providers in Virginia and across the country through various efforts, including:
- A $$1,000 college scholarship to a high school senior in Virginia who was born with a cleft lip/cleft palate
- Social events for parents and the medical community to network, including support group meetings, a summer picnic and a holiday party
- Outreach seminars to providers
- The family-oriented video entitled, "A Beautiful Child"
- A newsletter for families of children born with cleft lip/cleft palate"
